🌊 Key Features of the TRYC Junior Program



Longstanding legacy

The Juniors program began in 1938, paused during WWII, then restarted in 1950. In 1951, TRYC purchased 26 Turnabouts to launch its largest racing sailboat fleet, later adding a Laser fleet in 1981

Program size & structure

Today over 150 junior members participate, making it a significant component of the club. Instruction covers sailing, boat handling, racing, swimming, and general nautical skills taught by trained instructors (historically including former juniors) .
